The entire structure of the summer house, including the floor and roof, is made of 12mm thick shiplap tongue and groove timber, offering additional strength and sturdiness. The shiplap cladding includes a small profile at the top of each board, allowing water to quickly run off the structure, aiding in faster drying and providing protection against water damage. For improved structural durability and thermal strength, all windows in the Oren Summer House are fitted with toughened safety glass, which is 500% more resistant to heat and shock than regular glass. The galvanised ironmongery on all Oren Summer Houses, including hinges, turn buttons, and door pulls, minimises oxidation and extends the lifespan of the structure. The galvanising process involves coating the hardware with a protective layer of zinc to prevent rust and other forms of damage. Additionally, the summer house comes equipped with high-quality waterproof felt that has a special ‘polyester’ backing, ensuring longevity and preventing rips or wrinkles. The felt is saturated with bitumen (asphalt), which repels water while still allowing the structure to breathe.
