The Shield Wood Dye & Defender is a durable water-repelling solution that is safe for plants and animals, safeguarding all kinds of outdoor wood from the elements and fungi. It can also be utilized on terracotta, brickwork, or any absorbent surface. Its longevity ranges between 2 to 5 years (depending on usage and exposure levels) and it is offered in various shades. Coverage: Approximately 8-12m² per application We suggest applying 2 layers with the option of a 3rd for richer coloring. If your primary surface is not pressure treated, it is advisable to utilize a Wood Preserver before applying the dye – we recommend Protek Wood Preserver ++. In locations with severe weather conditions, it is advisable to use Protek Clear Tough Coat as an overcoat. For lighter hues, we suggest using our Stain Halting Primer to prevent potential discolouration from tannin bleed on the final coat.
