Shield Wood Stain & Defender is a durable water-resistant solution that is eco-friendly and safe for plants and animals while safeguarding all kinds of outdoor wood from the elements and mildew. This solution can be administered on terracotta and stone or any absorbent material. Enduring – 2-5 years (depending on usage & exposure levels) Offered in a range of hues Area coverage: Approximately 8-12m² per layer We advise 2 layers with a third to intensify the color richness. If your primary material is not pressure treated, then you should use a Wood Preservative before staining; we suggest Protek Wood Preservative ++. For heavy exposure to the elements, it is advisable to apply Protek Clear Durable Finish as a finishing layer. For lighter shades, we suggest using our Stain Blocking Undercoat to prevent any potential discoloration from tannin seeping through.
