The 4Life™ Pressure Treated Sheds stand out as the finest range of overlap sheds created by Forest. They come in various styles and sizes, all meticulously crafted and manufactured in the UK. This specific one is the 6×4 Windowless Apex Shed (1.88m x 1.34m), perfect for secure outdoor storage in smaller outdoor spaces.

Pressure-Treated Timber with a 4Life™ Warranty
This wooden shed is pressure treated to halt decay and is supported by an unmatched 25-year anti-rot warranty, the lengthiest in the industry. The wood will never require re-treatment, saving both time and money. With a 4Life™ Shed, you’ll only need one shed in a lifetime!

Innovative Modular Design
Featuring an enhanced fully modular design, this garden shed is delivered in smaller sections of interchangeable panels, making assembly significantly easier compared to most wooden sheds. This modular design also provides a wide array of door placement options, allowing customization to suit specific needs. Additionally, with 30% more framing than traditional wooden sheds, this 6×4 shed is not just easy to set up and adaptable but also incredibly sturdy.

Walls, Flooring, and Roofing
Constructed from 7mm overlap cladding, the walls ensure efficient rain runoff and accommodate natural timber movement throughout the seasons. Unlike many other overlap sheds, the boards have straight cuts, giving them a more elegant appearance.
The floor, made of 14mm solid wood, is 40% thicker than standard shed floors and includes pressure-treated bearers for added ground moisture protection.
The roof consists of 8mm solid sheeting with a premium mineral-felt covering for complete weatherproofing. Its apex design, smooth-planed barge boards, and decorative finials contribute to an exceptionally chic look.

Enhanced Security Shed
The door can be positioned in various ways and is flexible for either left or right-hand opening. It features double-Z framing for additional durability and to prevent warping. Concealed security hinges and a hasp & staple plate maintain the security of valuable tools (padlock not included). The lack of windows enhances security by deterring unwanted attention. A generous headroom and expanded garden storage possibilities are provided by the high roofline.

White Glove Delivery Service
Forest’s White Glove Service offers complimentary delivery of this shed to most UK addresses, directly to the customer’s garden with all packaging removed. Clear instructions and a comprehensive set of fixings are included for uncomplicated assembly.

Optional Enhancements
Optional enhancements include a professional installation service and a pressure-treated shed base.

Shed Base Options Wooden Shed Base Kit An expedited DIY solution compared to laying slabs or concrete. This shed base comprises a framework made from UC4 incised timber that is pressure treated for durability, resisting rot for an impressive 15 years. Base size: 7.5cm (h) x 118cm (w) x 182.6cm (d)     Plastic Shed Base Kit The 6×4 plastic shed base kit is an easy-to-install option ideal for avoiding the inconvenience of laying slabs or concrete for a shed base. Its interlocking design allows easy assembly and despite its lightweight, it provides a robust and durable base for the shed, made entirely from 100% recycled plastic. Additionally, it can be reused when moving the shed and offers ventilation and drainage underneath, maintaining a dry shed floor. To install, interlock the square grids and lay them on a firm, level surface. We recommend using 15kg of 10mm pea gravel per square (gravel not included). Each square measures 500 x 500 x 40mm. The package includes 12 squares and heavy-duty, commercially-graded weed membrane. The installation of plastic shed bases is not part of our service. Refer to an instructional video to properly install the base using provided instructions before the visit. Placing the base directly on grass will not suffice, and our installers will be unable to assemble your garden building.

FAQs

The size of the shed depends on what you plan to store or use it for. Measure the items you plan to store and consider any additional space for moving around or future storage needs. Common sizes range from small (6×8 feet) for basic storage to large (12×24 feet) for workshops or extensive storage.
Sheds are typically made from wood, metal, or plastic. Wood is aesthetically pleasing and customizable but requires more maintenance. Metal sheds are durable and secure but can be prone to rust. Plastic sheds are low-maintenance and easy to assemble but may not be as sturdy as wood or metal.

Permit requirements vary by location. Check with your local building department or zoning office. Typically, small sheds (under 120 square feet) may not require a permit, but larger ones or those with electrical installations often do.

A solid foundation is crucial for stability and longevity. Options include concrete slabs, gravel bases, or wooden platforms. Choose a foundation based on your shed’s size, material, and the ground conditions of your site.
Look for sheds with features like weather-resistant materials, proper sealing, and robust construction. Ensure the shed has a good roof overhang, proper drainage, and secure locking mechanisms to protect against theft and weather damage.
Assembly time depends on the size and complexity of the shed. Small, simple sheds can be assembled in a few hours, while larger or more complex sheds may take a full day or more. Professional installation is also an option for those who prefer not to DIY.
Maintenance depends on the material. Wooden sheds need periodic painting or staining and checking for rot or pests. Metal sheds may need rust prevention treatments. Plastic sheds require minimal maintenance, typically just cleaning as needed.
Moving a shed is possible but can be challenging, especially for larger structures. It’s easier to move a smaller shed if it has a solid base. Consider the logistics and potential costs of moving before installation. If moving is likely, a portable shed might be a better option.
Many sheds come with detailed assembly instructions, making them suitable for DIY installation, especially smaller models. However, larger or more complex sheds may require professional installation to ensure they are properly and safely assembled. Assess your skill level, available tools, and the complexity of the shed before deciding.
