The Oren 14′ x 12′ Duchess Log Cabin represents a top-notch, multipurpose, and roomy modern garden structure ideal for an outdoor fitness studio, spare sleeping area, or workspace. This cabin showcases the latest contemporary elements, featuring anthracite PVC double entrances and tilt and turn openings to welcome ample natural light indoors. Both windows and entrances are equipped with sturdy double glazed glass for enhanced insulation and safety.

uPVC Entrances and Windows – The Oren Log Cabin includes uPVC Double Entrances in Anthracite Grey and uPVC ‘Tilt and Turn’ Operable Windows. All glass is double glazed and reinforced for toughness.

Advanced Security – Apart from the durable double glazing, every entrance and window comes with a 5-point locking device. Whether the cabin is intended for storage or a home office, this highly secure space offers that additional peace of mind.

Roofing Protection – With a 50-year lifespan, the roof of this log cabin is engineered to shield the structure from various weather conditions. It is equipped with an innovative EPDM rubber roofing setup with a 50-year lifespan. It also features a gutter edge drip plate for efficient rainwater runoff away from the cabin’s sides.

Under 2.5m – All cabins are below 2.5m to the ridge, enabling you to avoid most planning restrictions that might affect residential constructions. The inclusion of extra deep 145mm roof purlins guarantees that the structure’s strength and stability are uncompromised by the reduced height.

Premium Timber Quality – The walls of the log cabin are crafted from 44mm thick high-quality Scandinavian Timber obtained from sustainable sources. No inferior timber profiles like 19mm and 28mm thick cabins or structures with OSB or chipboard elements are employed. The floors and roofs consist of tongue & groove boards to ensure durability and sturdiness. Timber bearers are provided to elevate the cabin off the ground, adding an extra layer of floor protection.

Contemporary Accents – Eye-catching features like external sills on all windows and ‘easy access’ aluminum low threshold sills on the entrances enhance the functionality and visual appeal of the cabin. Careful attention to detail is evident in the Burford style skirting, offering a refined finish to the interior.

Smart Self-Assembly – Our 44mm interlocking logs, supported by our innovative notching system, simplify the building process to ensure a snug fit. Comprehensive fixings and instructions are included for DIY assembly, along with additional telephone/email support and instructional installation videos if needed.

Sustainability – We prioritize sustainability! Timber is responsibly sourced from certified suppliers and carefully selected forests. Chain of custody certification tracks the wood from forest to distribution, ensuring consistent quality control.

Special Promotion – Receive a complimentary 5L container of Protek Wood Preserver to kickstart your cabin preservation. This water-based, ready-to-use exterior wood preservative and primer will need more preserver to cover the entire cabin. Additional tubs can be purchased from the customization section.

FAQs

The size of the shed depends on what you plan to store or use it for. Measure the items you plan to store and consider any additional space for moving around or future storage needs. Common sizes range from small (6×8 feet) for basic storage to large (12×24 feet) for workshops or extensive storage.
Sheds are typically made from wood, metal, or plastic. Wood is aesthetically pleasing and customizable but requires more maintenance. Metal sheds are durable and secure but can be prone to rust. Plastic sheds are low-maintenance and easy to assemble but may not be as sturdy as wood or metal.

Permit requirements vary by location. Check with your local building department or zoning office. Typically, small sheds (under 120 square feet) may not require a permit, but larger ones or those with electrical installations often do.

A solid foundation is crucial for stability and longevity. Options include concrete slabs, gravel bases, or wooden platforms. Choose a foundation based on your shed’s size, material, and the ground conditions of your site.
Look for sheds with features like weather-resistant materials, proper sealing, and robust construction. Ensure the shed has a good roof overhang, proper drainage, and secure locking mechanisms to protect against theft and weather damage.
Assembly time depends on the size and complexity of the shed. Small, simple sheds can be assembled in a few hours, while larger or more complex sheds may take a full day or more. Professional installation is also an option for those who prefer not to DIY.
Maintenance depends on the material. Wooden sheds need periodic painting or staining and checking for rot or pests. Metal sheds may need rust prevention treatments. Plastic sheds require minimal maintenance, typically just cleaning as needed.
Moving a shed is possible but can be challenging, especially for larger structures. It’s easier to move a smaller shed if it has a solid base. Consider the logistics and potential costs of moving before installation. If moving is likely, a portable shed might be a better option.
Many sheds come with detailed assembly instructions, making them suitable for DIY installation, especially smaller models. However, larger or more complex sheds may require professional installation to ensure they are properly and safely assembled. Assess your skill level, available tools, and the complexity of the shed before deciding.
