The Oren 14′ x 12′ Duke Log Residence is a high-quality, versatile, and spacious modern garden building ideal for an outdoor gym, extra guest accommodation, or office space. This dwelling boasts contemporary features, such as custom-crafted wooden double doors and windows that allow abundant natural light to fill the space. These windows and doors are fitted with durable double-glazed glass for enhanced insulation and security.

Tailor-Made Entryways and Windows – The Oren Log Residence is equipped with expertly designed Double Doors and Windows. All glass is both tempered and double-glazed – top-of-the-line.

Sturdy Protection – Alongside the tempered double glazing, each door and window is secured with a 3 lever mortice lock. Whether you plan to use the log residence for storage or as a home office, this secure environment will provide peace of mind.

EPDM Roofing System – With a lifespan of 50 years, the roof of this log residence is built to protect the structure from various weather conditions. It features an advanced EPDM rubber roofing system with a 50-year lifespan. This includes a gutter edge drip plate to divert rainwater away from the sides of the log residence.

Under 2.5m in Height – All residences stand below 2.5m at the ridge, enabling you to bypass most planning restrictions applicable to residential buildings. There are extra deep 145mm roof purlins to ensure that strength and stability remain uncompromised despite the reduced height.

Premium Timber – The walls of the log residence are solid 28mm timber sourced from high-quality, environmentally friendly Scandinavian forests. No inferior log profiles such as 19mm or 22mm thick logs, or structures made with OSB or particleboard materials for floors and roofs, are used. The floors and roofs are constructed with tongue & groove boards to guarantee durability and strength. Timber bearers are provided to elevate the log residence off the ground for additional floor protection.

Modern Touches – Features like external window sills and ‘easy access’ aluminium low threshold sills on the doors enhance the practicality of the structure, besides its aesthetic appeal. Moreover, the Burford-style skirting inside the log dwelling adds a polished touch.

Innovative Self-Assembly – Our 28mm premium interlocking logs are combined with a cutting-edge notching system that enables you to assemble your residence confidently, ensuring everything fits snugly and securely. Assembly materials and instructions are included for a DIY construction, along with access to additional phone/email support and instructional installation videos if required.

Environmentally Friendly – We give back! Timber is meticulously selected from suppliers and forests that undergo a rigorous evaluation process. Only sustainable timber sources with chain of custody certification that tracks timber from forest to distribution are engaged.

FAQs

The size of the shed depends on what you plan to store or use it for. Measure the items you plan to store and consider any additional space for moving around or future storage needs. Common sizes range from small (6×8 feet) for basic storage to large (12×24 feet) for workshops or extensive storage.
Sheds are typically made from wood, metal, or plastic. Wood is aesthetically pleasing and customizable but requires more maintenance. Metal sheds are durable and secure but can be prone to rust. Plastic sheds are low-maintenance and easy to assemble but may not be as sturdy as wood or metal.

Permit requirements vary by location. Check with your local building department or zoning office. Typically, small sheds (under 120 square feet) may not require a permit, but larger ones or those with electrical installations often do.

A solid foundation is crucial for stability and longevity. Options include concrete slabs, gravel bases, or wooden platforms. Choose a foundation based on your shed’s size, material, and the ground conditions of your site.
Look for sheds with features like weather-resistant materials, proper sealing, and robust construction. Ensure the shed has a good roof overhang, proper drainage, and secure locking mechanisms to protect against theft and weather damage.
Assembly time depends on the size and complexity of the shed. Small, simple sheds can be assembled in a few hours, while larger or more complex sheds may take a full day or more. Professional installation is also an option for those who prefer not to DIY.
Maintenance depends on the material. Wooden sheds need periodic painting or staining and checking for rot or pests. Metal sheds may need rust prevention treatments. Plastic sheds require minimal maintenance, typically just cleaning as needed.
Moving a shed is possible but can be challenging, especially for larger structures. It’s easier to move a smaller shed if it has a solid base. Consider the logistics and potential costs of moving before installation. If moving is likely, a portable shed might be a better option.
Many sheds come with detailed assembly instructions, making them suitable for DIY installation, especially smaller models. However, larger or more complex sheds may require professional installation to ensure they are properly and safely assembled. Assess your skill level, available tools, and the complexity of the shed before deciding.
